ANU School of Sociology staff member Robert Ackland has published a new analysis of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in the article Bridging in network organisations. The case of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). This article, co-authored by Tomas Venturini and Kari de Pryck, investigates the relational architecture of the IPCC focussing on the individuals that, in the thirty years of its existence, have assured the connection between its different components. They did this by creating a unique database of all individuals who have contributed to IPCC throughout its existence, and analysing their work streams and connections. By analysing the resulting networks, key individuals, and their trajectories, they provide insights on the IPCC as a network organisation.
